Ads are one of the annoying thing to all of us. Sometimes, they will show useful links but most of the time they will be irrelevant. Sure they do create some revenue to webmaster but for us it’ll consume our bandwidth and irritate us.
So today we are going to see how to block Ads in windows by updating HOSTS file
We can block ads across all browsers and applications in windows by pointing ad server’s IP to localhost (127.0.0.1). This is done in HOSTS file in the C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc
We need to manually point ad servers IP to localhost. So that, none of the ads will load our PC.
To save your time I’ve created a piece of software to block ads you can download it below.
How to block Ads ?
It’s very simple just open the block_ads.exe file. It’ll do everything! (take backup of your current HOSTS file & point ad servers to 127.0.0.1).
Rock and Roll… There won’t be any annoying ads in your PC, NEVER EVER!
How to unblock Ads ?
If you wish to rollback HOSTS files and unblock ads just open the unblock_ads.exe file. So that it’ll delete the current HOSTS file and rollback the previous HOSTS file.
